Book review – Shackletons Whisky

My wife bought me a bottle of MacKinlays Rare Old (the Whyte and McKay recreation of the whisky Ernest Shackleton took to the Antarctic) for our wedding anniversary. Alongside it she bought me this book.  I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to both whisky and Antarctic exploration so it appealed to two of my interests.

It looks more at the history of Shackletons expedition than the processes involved in the recreation of the whisky but it’s a great read. Perfect for anyone who is into either (or both) of these topics.

As for the whisky? Not had the occasion to open it…yet.

I will, just waiting on the occasion! I don’t have a collection, I have a drinking queue! It’s getting to the front. Thanks for reading and commenting.
