Ledaig 13 year Old Gordon and McPhail Bottling

On the nose its mild peat smoke and a sort of lemony sweetness. This was a disappointment for me, it just seems thin and lacking in the typical Ledaig character. The palate feels mildly oily and lacks a certain something, there is a mild off note here I cant quite place.  The finish is mildly astringent and undewhelming.  I’ve tried several other Ledaigs and they were much, much better.  Just to top it off when I opened it the cork broke off inside the bottle. Bugger.

  1. It’s sitting here mate, yours if you want it, call it a swap for the Laphroiag Select?

  2. That’s a shame to read drammer, I am a Ledaig fan as you know. I must try some to see if I have the same feelings.
