Hyde 10 y.o, Presidents Cask, 46% abv (available here)
On the nose there is a very tropical feeling with pineapples and papayas coated in thick honey. There is a slight raisin note along with fresh green apples and a hint of tobacco. The palate is quite pleasant, continuing in the same direction as the nose. The tropical fruits give way to vanilla with more raisins and a slight wood note and a buttery mouthfeel. The finish is drying and turns to the spice side with tannins and allspice emerging at the end.
This isn’t a complex or demanding dram but a very pleasant easy drinker.
Thanks to Hyde for the sample.
