Mackmyra Brukswhisky, OB, 41.4%abv (available here)
On the nose it feels really fresh. Citrus notes (primarily lemon) with vanilla, green apples, wet peppercorns and a gentle toffee undernote.
The palate is light and refreshing with the lemon notes leaving a taste akin to lemon fudge (if there is such a thing) with the initial peppery feeling remaining but tempered by the arrival of some woody oak, the return of the fruit notes and some very gentle spice.
The finish just continues along from the palate with no real surprises or additions but is very nice and turns ever so slightly buttery at the end with perhaps a faint touch of kiwi fruit.
A very pleasant, refreshing and summery dram indeed.
